Ditson Grand Concert

Parlor Model

This parlor-size acoustic guitar is modeled after the grand concert that C.F. Martin co. built for the Oliver Ditson Music Co. In Boston, Ma. Around 1912. Known as the “baby dreadnought” it was third in size in the line of four models produced.

The body is small, but it’s voice is surprisingly loud due, in part, to the short scale length and 12th fret to the body neck joint. It is very responsive in the middle and treble strings and actually has decent bass response for such a small guitar. A great finger style instrument. Very light and comfortable to play and a visual delight with its elegant, flowing shape.
